Six JV Wrestling Braves traveled this evening to Aynor High School to compete in the Area 7 Regional Qualifier Tournament. Thirteen teams from local counties brought their JV teams trying to make it to the Carolina Invitational. In order to qualify and move on to the Coastal Sectional Tournament Saturday in Summerville, wrestlers had to finish in the top 5 of their weight class. All 6 of our Braves qualified and are moving on. Blaine Konewko (132 pounds), London Wilder (150 pounds) and Yury Santos (165 pounds) all took 2nd place Marlee Singletary and Nathan Nolan took 3rd and 4th place in the 215 pound weight class. Fin Caldwell took 5th in the 106 pound weight class. FMS will have 10 wrestlers attending and SMS will have 2. They will now be traveling to Summerville High School Saturday morning to wrestle in the next Carolina Invitational qualifier. Wrestlers must finish in the top 4 to move on.
