The Socastee Braves Wrestling Team brought 8 wrestlers to Hilton Head and competed in the Shark Invitational hosted by May River High School and sponsored by the US Army. 36 teams from South Carolina, Georgia and Virginia traveled to compete in the tournament. Brackets were large and the top 5 in every weight class placed. Two Braves are coming home finishing in the top 5. Michael Kegler went 4-1 on the day and is coming home with a 3rd place Bronze medal. Gavin Maxwell went 4-2 on the day and finished 5th. The Braves now have a solid week of practice time before opening Region competition when school resumes. Our first Region opponent is Myrtle Beach at home on January 8th. Wrestling starts at 6pm.
